Empowering Students: Our Third Career Day at East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School
March 7, 2025 — East Rockaway, NY
Career Day Inc. proudly returned to East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School for the third year in a row, continuing our shared mission of empowering students and expanding career awareness across Long Island. This year’s event brought together more than 600 students and dozens of professionals who generously volunteered their time to inspire the next generation of leaders.
The program began with three powerful keynote speakers whose stories set an uplifting tone for the day.
Dr. Maria Conzatti, Chief Administrative Officer at Nassau Community College, shared her personal and professional journey in higher education, encouraging students to embrace opportunity and resilience.
Phil DePaul, Founder and CEO of BoomZeal Enterprises, motivated students with his entrepreneurial spirit and message about turning passion into purpose.
And for the first time, Kenia Nuñez, Associate Director of Student Access Services at Hofstra University, delivered a special keynote in Spanish, connecting deeply with bilingual and ENL students and reinforcing Career Day Inc.’s commitment to inclusivity and access.
Following the keynotes, students participated in breakout sessions tailored to different grade levels.
7th and 8th graders explored a variety of career paths through hands-on and engaging discussions.
High school students (grades 9–12) met directly with industry professionals in small group sessions, learning about real-world experiences and the diverse opportunities available beyond the classroom.
The energy and enthusiasm throughout the day were contagious. Teachers, administrators, and speakers alike remarked on the students’ curiosity, professionalism, and excitement for the future.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to East Rockaway Jr/Sr High School for their continued partnership and support. Each year, this program grows stronger—proof of what’s possible when schools, communities, and professionals come together to inspire students’ dreams.
